Donald Trump Threatens to "Totally Destroy' North Korea at the UNGA

The US President Donald Trump during his first speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) blazed in rhetoric against North Korea’s Kim Jong-un. He threatened to “totally destroy” North Korea while calling its leader as “a rocket man on a suicide mission” in his latest display of brinkmanship against Pyongyang.
"The United States has great strength and patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea," said Trump, much to the awe of the other world leaders who were listening to his speech at UNGA.
Trump continued his speech with exemplary resentment claiming “outrage”, in what appeared to be a coveted nudge at China, over nations that trade with or support North Korea.
Trump’s UNGA remarks came after UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres had earlier appealed for statesmanship and diplomacy. His tacit outrage to Beijing has been taken with more interest than his direct threat to Pyongyang. The US president’s claim is also seen as an addition to its persuasion of China to extend the assistance to North Korea.
In its latest editorial, Chinese daily Global Times declared the confrontation between Pyongyang and Washington has escalated to a degree that has not been witnessed before and also added that Washington is “obsessed” with its strength. The editorial of the newspaper, which is usually seen in line with China’s official position, said Washington should not ratchet up the rhetoric against Pyongyang and try to solve the issue peacefully.
Trump’s remarks also gathered sharp reactions back home including former secretary of state Hillary Clinton who censured US president on calling Kim as a “rocket man”. President Trump has since attacked Clinton on Twitter claiming, “After allowing North Korea to research and build Nukes while Secretary of State (Bill C also), Crooked Hillary now criticises.”
Trumps “totally destroy” remarks for North Korea, however, certainly means that the situation between the US and Korea will worsen the already volatile situation.
