Delhi: Hundreds of Students Protest, Demand Scrapping of NTA After NEET, CUET ‘Irregularities’
New Delhi: Hundreds of students on Monday held a protest in front of the Education Ministry demanding the scrapping of the National Testing Agency (NTA).
The protest comes after a huge controversy over the “mismanagement” of NEET exams by NTA for admission to medical, dental and AYUSH courses. There are also a string of controversies surrounding the agency, including paper leaks in the Central Universities Entrance Test (CUET). Some affected persons have also moved the Supreme Court challenging grace marks given 1,563 NEET candidates on grounds of “loss of time”.
"Students demand for an independent and transparent investigation into the alleged irregularities in the NEET exam to ensure accountability. We demand the MHRD to establish a more reliable and secure examination system to safeguard the integrity of entrance exams" said Avijit Ghosh, Vice President of JNUSU, in a press statement, issued by the Students’ Federation of India (SFI).

Hundreds Protest at MHRD demanding justice: Scrap the Incompetent NTA!
Hundreds of students gathered today at the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) to voice their outrage over the recent alleged scam in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
This protest comes amidst growing concerns about the NTA's ability to conduct fair and secure examinations. The recent alleged NEET scam follows a string of controversies surrounding the agency, including paper leaks in the Central Universities Entrance Test (CUET). These incidents have not only caused immense stress and anxiety for students but have also jeopardized their futures.
The protestors called for the complete dismantling of the NTA due to its repeated failures in conducting secure examinations. "Students demand for an independent and transparent investigation into the alleged irregularities in the NEET exam to ensure accountability. We demand the MHRD to establish a more reliable and secure examination system to safeguard the integrity of entrance exams" said Avijit Ghosh, Vice President of JNUSU. "Time and again, NTA has backstabbed the student community through flawed ways of it conducting the examinations. Amidst recent CUET exams also students had to suffer because of various discrepancies that happened at the exam centres and no adequate actions were taken from their side. NTA has proved itself to be an incompetent body which can't ensure free and fair examinations. In this context MHRD should take immediate steps to scrap NTA," said Sooraj Elamon, Joint Secretary of SFI Delhi.
The student community stands united in demanding a fair and transparent exam system. The future of countless students is at stake, and the MHRD must take immediate action to address these critical issues.
