Yamuna Khadar near the DND and Mayur Vihar in East Delhi is the area where thousands of poor labourers and farmers have been living without basic amenities for decades. People living here have voter ID cards to vote but there are no basic facilities like water, electricity, school, toilets and road.
Ahead of the Delhi Municipal elections to be held in December, NewsClick's team visited Yamuna Khadar and tried to understand the basic issues faced by the people there. We also spoke to the candidates, who have entered the municipal election fray, to know their views on these issues.
