'EIA 2020 Is Disastrous'
Around 75 youth groups and hundreds of individuals have endorsed a letter to the central government raising concerns over the draft Environment Impact Assessment (EIA 2020) notification. They argue that the EIA is problematic and it seems to cause more harm to the environment than protecting it. P Rajamanickam, General Secretary of All India People's Science Network(AIPSN) said that the draft EIA seeks to favour the corporates in the name of 'ease of doing business'. The letter also said that it is the people's right to express dissent against the government's proposal.
