In a country where crores of rupees are being spent on building a statue, and loans worth millions given to big industrialists are waived off, farmers have to commit suicide after they find themselves unable to pay back the loans of a few lakhs.
Mangal Chand, a resident of Charanwas village in Nagore district of Rajasthan had to end his life last month after he failed to repay a farm loan of Rs 2,02,884.
