BEML Employees' Protest Against Defence Privatisation Reaches Delhi
Hundreds of employees of the Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) from various parts of India held a two-day protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi against the BJP-led central government's decision to privatise the Defence Public Sector Undertaking.
The employees, who travelled to Delhi all the way from Bangalore, Mysore, Palakkad and Kolar Gold Fields for the dharna, said that BEML's privatisation will open the door for massive corruption, just as in the case of many other privatisation deals in the past.
